About Me

Darwin’s quote has always resonated with me. Real progress happens when people and organizations are willing to learn, adapt, and grow. That belief shapes everything I do.

I’m LaKell Archer, an instructional technologist and doctoral student in Educational Technology at Boise State University. My work blends clinical experience, instructional design, and performance strategy. This combination gives me a unique perspective on learning, systems, technology, and change management.

Before entering the learning and development space, I spent 18 years as a dental hygienist and clinic manager in fast-paced, high-growth practices. I loved the challenge of supporting team performance and improving processes. As our team expanded, I became increasingly focused on how to onboard staff more effectively, communicate better, and capture organizational knowledge. That interest led me to the field of instructional design and, eventually, to Boise State’s Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning program.

Since then, I’ve earned an M.S. in Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning, along with a graduate certificate in Workplace eLearning Design and Development (WELDD). I’m currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Technology, with a focus on integrating EdTech into higher education and workplace settings. Today, I support faculty and staff through Boise State’s Learning Technology Solutions team and contribute to innovation and research as a member of the university’s Learning Strategy Lab and Process Management Lab.

My work centers on designing and supporting technology-enhanced learning experiences that improve performance and advance strategic outcomes. I apply systems thinking, data-informed decision making, and performance improvement frameworks to guide my approach. Through my LLC, LaKell Archer Learning & Performance Strategies, I also consult on projects that align with my values and strengths. I’m always open to meaningful collaborations in education, training, and workplace learning and strategy.

In a world where change is constant, learning is our most powerful tool. Darwin’s insight—that survival belongs to those most responsive to change—remains especially relevant today. Whether I’m integrating technology for faculty or workflows, helping teams collaborate more effectively, or designing scalable learning for the modern workforce, my goal is to turn adaptation into a strategic advantage across education and the workplace. If you’re here to explore ideas, share experiences, or connect over learning strategy, I’d love to hear from you.
